Privacy Policy — TextExport

TextExport ("the App," "we," "us") is developed by Sonoran Hermit. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it's used, and — just as importantly — what we never do with it.

What the App accesses, and why

Permission	What it's used for
SMS/MMS (read-only)	To display your conversation list and pull the messages you choose to export. The App never sends, deletes, or modifies any message.
Contacts (read-only)	To show contact names instead of raw phone numbers in your conversation list and exported files, so it's clear who said what.

Both permissions are requested through Android's standard system permission dialogs. You can deny either one, and you can revoke them at any time afterward in your phone's Settings — the App will simply lose the related functionality (for example, showing phone numbers instead of names) rather than crashing or misbehaving.

The App does not register itself as your default SMS or messaging app, and never touches that setting on your phone.

What happens to your data

• All processing happens locally, on your device, inside the App itself.
• Exported files (XLS, CSV, or PDF) are saved either to a location you choose yourself, or to your device's Downloads folder if you use the "Save & Send" option.
• If you use "Save & Send," the file is handed to whichever app you personally choose from your phone's native share menu (Messages, Email, etc.) — that choice, and that send, is entirely yours. We have no visibility into it and no part in it.
• MMS attachments (photos, videos) are not extracted, copied, or included in exports. Only the text portion of a message is exported.
• No ads, ever. We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs of any kind — meaning there's no third-party code embedded in the App with its own data-collection agenda. Ad SDKs are one of the most common ways apps unintentionally leak user data; TextExport simply doesn't include any.
• We do not create user accounts, and there is no login. We have no way to identify you as a user of the App.

Data retention

Because nothing is transmitted to us or stored outside your device, there is nothing on our end to retain, and nothing for us to delete on request — there's no copy anywhere but the file you created and wherever you chose to put it. Uninstalling the App removes it and any cached data completely from your device.

Third-party libraries

The App uses a small number of open-source libraries (for building spreadsheet, CSV, and PDF files) that run entirely offline, locally on your device, as part of generating your export. None of them transmit data over the internet or to any third party.

Children's privacy

TextExport is intended for use by real estate professionals and other adults managing business communications. It is not directed at, marketed to, or knowingly used by children under 13, and since we collect no data, we do not collect any information from children.

Your choices and rights

• You control both permissions this App requests, at any time, through your device's Settings.
• Because we never receive or store your data in the first place, there is no account data, message content, or contact information for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — it never left your phone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the App adds a new feature that touches data differently — we'll update this page and revise the effective date above. We won't make changes that reduce your privacy without making that clearly visible here.
